R. Kannan (born Rajmohan) is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter. He made his directorial debut with the successful Tamil film Jayamkondaan starring Vinay Rai and Bhavana in 2008.

Kannan started his career assisting director Manobala before joining Mani Ratnam in films including Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Ayutha Ezhuthu (2004) and Guru (2007).He directed his first film Jayamkondaan in 2008. Jayamkondaan revolved around an Information technology professional and his relationship with his step sister. The film opened to generally positive reviews. His third film, Kanden Kadhalai, was a remake of Imtiaz Ali\'s Hindi blockbuster, Jab We Met (2007). 

Featuring Bharath and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead, it performed moderately at the Box Office. He released Vanthaan Vendraan which has Jeeva and Taapsee Pannu. He remade Delhi Belly in Tamil as Settai starring Arya, Santhanam, Premgi, Hansika Motwani, Anjali & Nassar.

Alangaaram will be the next feature film. Alangaaram is apparently Director Kannan\'s own script which he calls it to be his dream project & he has worked close to 2 years scripting for this film.
