Sanjay Bharathi made his acting debut in Selva\'s Naanga, alongside an ensemble cast involving several other children of noted Tamil film personalities.The film, a period college drama set in the 1980s, opened to mixed reviews and became a commercial failure. He was next seen in a role in Vijay Adhiraj\'s Puthagam, before playing another pivotal supporting character in Karu Pazhaniappan\'s Jannal Oram (2013).
