Full Biography of Actor Hari Krishnan

Hari Krishnan is an Indian film actor who has appeared in Tamil language films. He has regularly collaborated in films directed by Pa. Ranjith, playing pivotal roles in Attakathi (2012), Madras (2014) and Kabali (2016).

Hari Krishnan studied at DG Vaishnav College and became interesting in the art of miming. He subsequently joined a performing troupe at his college and travelled through Tamil Nadu giving performances as a mime artist. He met director Pa. Ranjith when he accompanied noted mime artist, Gopi, to the sets of the filmmaker's directorial debut Attakathi (2012) and joined the cast by chance, after another actor was unable to perform as Ranjith wanted.

Hari then worked on Bharat Bala's drama film Maryan (2013) and portrayed a fisherman, though several of his scenes did not make the final cut. Ranjith recruited him again to work on Madras (2014), where Hari Krishnan was cast a Johnny, a zany, eccentric street dweller and as a part of his preparation for the role, he had to observe a few patients who were being treated at the Government Mental Hospital, Kilpauk. Hari lost fifteen kilograms for the role and was often mistaken on the set by visitors to be an actual psychotic character. The film performed well at the box office and won positive review from critics, and became Hari's breakthrough role as an actor.

His first release of 2016 was the horror film Darling 2, where Hari played a stammering man who enters a haunted mansion. Hari then also appeared in Ranjith's next venture, Kabali (2016) starring Rajinikanth. Portraying the role of a young rogue in Malaysia, Hari won critical acclaim for his performance as the film went on to become the highest grossing Tamil film of all time.
